About Derive
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Lorenzo: my earliest musical memories is listening to De André in the car, discovering how storytelling can shape a melody. Later, britpop and the Beatles sparked something new in me.
Armando: for me, it all began with rock classics like Pink Floyd.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Destroyer, Dan's Boogie
Litfiba, Terremoto
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stadium Arcadium
Terremoto takes us back to when we became friends at 18,rebellious and hungry for sound. Stadium Arcadium is the one album we’d take to a desert island without thinking twice. And Dan’s Boogie is the record without which Derive simply wouldn’t exist.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Viaggio Inaspettato (feat. Quant!co & Pablo)”
Viaggio Inaspettato is our very first experiment where we fused ideas in the studio with no filters. It’s special because it captures the energy of friends turning improvisation into a real track for the first time.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
The most memorable moment in our career so far hasn't been written yet, it's waiting in the wings, ready to unfold as we drop our next track. But if we had to pick from what's already happened, it's that electric night when we founded this project.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Everything, damn it! We're just getting started... headlining a festival under open skies, touring cities and watching our tracks ignite stages from Milan to Tokyo. For now, just keep watching!
