About Dida Pelled
A jazz crossover artist with an intimate vocal delivery, Dida Pelled combines influences ranging from Bob Dylan and Lou Reed to Nina Simone and Connie Converse into her equally unusual original songs and takes on standards. After studying at the New School in Manhattan, the Tel Aviv native made her recording debut with Dida Plays & Sings in 2011. Her accompanists on the album included Roy Hargrove and Gregory Hutchinson. Pelled's character song "Jack Nice" from 2015's Modern Love Songs became a minor hit, but she stuck to mostly covers (and two originals) for the next year's A Missing Shade of Blue. Pelled teamed up with indie folksinger Twain for "Come to Me (I Can't Come to You)" from 2022's Love of the Tiger, while her fifth album, 2026's I Wish You Would, saw her lead pianist Sullivan Fortner, bassist Tony Scherr, and drummer Kenny Wollesen.
