About Die! Die! Die!
New Zealand post-punk trio Die! Die! Die! combines the full-frontal noise assault of bands like Big Black with the energetic, funk-inflected grooves of bands like Gang of Four. The group formed in 2003 in Auckland, but then moved to the more indie music-friendly Dunedin, where they generated a sizable buzz with their powerful and raucous live shows. The band’s self-titled debut, produced by Steve Albini (ex of Big Black), was released in 2005 in New Zealand and 2007 in the States. Die! Die! Die! has also released two EPs-- LOCUST WEEKS (2006) and AT THE ECHO (2007)—in addition to their sophomore full-length, PROMISES, PROMISES (2007).
