About Dine Doneff
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I accidentally started playing music when, at 15, my mother surprised me with a cheap acoustic guitar as a gift. After months of strumming rhythms and singing melodies over and over, I decided to quit school and become a musician.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carla Bley, Charlie Haden, The Ballad of the Fallen Dino Saluzzi, Kultrum Mark Hollis, Mark Hollis I am pleased to engage with their conceptual narrative and its politically charged act of cultural resistance, which confronts the neoliberal logic of easily consumable cheap art by focusing on the essence of the human condition.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Song of the Unquietness” Inspired by The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa—a book that, in my youth, helped me explore and expand my multidimensional inner self through art.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Meeting and recording in the studio alongside Manfred Eicher, the visionary founder and director of ECM Records.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’m in a phase of composing anew while gathering and reworking conceptual pieces archived over the past two decades — all slated for production and release soon.
