David Luciano Acosta, better known in the Latin urban world as Baby Ranks, is a veteran of the reggaeton genre, operating in the underground before the style became hot at the turn of the millennium. Of his dozens of tracks and mixtape contributions since his career beginnings in 1994, Ranks' biggest claim to fame is the smash "Mayor Que Yo," a cornerstone of the reggaeton explosion of the mid-2000s along the lines of Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina." After more than a decade laying down tracks for other artists, Baby Ranks saw the release of his long-in-the-making solo debut, Mi Flow: This Is It, in the summer of 2008. ~ Andree Farias
