Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Raised by his older siblings across Mount Clemens, Detroit, Port Huron, Roseville, and Clinton Township, Michigan, DKRITB — born Dakel Kilamari-Lamont Dozier in 1999 — was never created by comfort. He was created by pressure. - D K R I T B
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? DKRITB, I WENT TO SHAKEYVILLE DKRITB, Stepped In The Name Of Love DKRITB, Stray Dogs & Bad Habits - Single Before the music, before the streams, there was survival. While balancing school, fatherhood, and the realities surrounding him, he sharpened a sound rooted in honesty instead of image. Every lyric came from lived experience. Every project became another chapter of his life.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Before the world knew him as DKRITB, he first moved under the names DeeKay Rich, then Dirty Kid Rich. Life, loss, growth, and responsibility transformed him DKRITB became more than a name a mindset. A symbol of resilience, loyalty, pain, & elevation.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? While many artists chased attention, DKRITB disappeared into fatherhood, healing, survival, and creation. Music became therapy, The studio became escape, The grind became legacy. Recording session became another sacrifice for his children’s future.
