Artist Biography
Uniting the sound of emo-edged indie rock with the trials and tribulations of British day-to-day life on their 2018 debut long-player, Who Cares Anyway?, Essex-based four-piece Don't Worry take the heart-on-sleeve style of bands such as the Smith Street Band, Modern Baseball, and the Hotelier and give it a distinctly British stamp.
Hailing from the Essex town of Harlow, Don't Worry came together in 2014 and quickly became a prominent force on the U.K. underground D.I.Y. punk scene. Issuing its debut EP, Dance with Me I'm Dyslexic, at the end of that year, the group played extensively across the U.K., delivering its second release, 2015's Feel Your Bones, some six months later. The band continued with its D.I.Y. ethic, while juggling university and touring, to deliver the double A-sided single Pillow/Chester Draws in early 2016. Joining longtime collaborator Bob Cooper (Nervus, Self Defence Family) in August at Leeds' Crooked Rain Studios, Don't Worry recorded their third EP, Bane of My Lifestyle.
Continuing with their ever-increasing touring schedule, the group headed out on another national tour, this time with London punkers Lightcliffe. A European tour followed in early 2017 before Don't Worry headed back into the studio with Cooper to record what would become their debut album. Signing to British indie Specialist Subject -- home to like-minded bands such as Fresh, Muncie Girls, Caves, and Shit Present -- the band issued Who Cares Anyway? in mid-2018. ~ Rich Wilson
