Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid, I sang along with the radio ALL the time. Once, I was singing along with a song, and my brother walked into my room and turned off the radio for several seconds. When the song came back on, I was still perfectly in time with the song.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Indigo Girls, Rites of Passage Bonus Track Version Jason Isbell, Southeastern Son Volt, American Central Dust All of these albums feature excellent songwriting and production techniques that highlight the songs and their stories. The Indigo Girls were my entry into modern folk rock, and they led me to the rock end of Americana via Uncle Tupelo and beyond.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Robin (For Mei Mei)” The Robin is the most important song I've ever written. It was a song I needed to write in the aftermath of a cherished niece choosing suicide. I sang it at her memorial, and it was the reason I decided I needed to go into the studio and record.
