As one of the few performers who have seamlessly traversed the Greater China and Southeast Asian music scenes, Joanna Dong’s grace and brilliant vocals shine through—no matter the language. Honing her chops as a jazz vocalist in the early 2000s, the homegrown Singaporean talent has received critical acclaim for her jazz band collaborations. However, she upped her game on the 2017 edition of reality singing competition The Voice of China, moving from whispery sweet nothings to dazzling stages with her soulful croon. The 2019 single “A Good Goodbye” revisited the jazz-inflected melodies of her roots.
