EABS (an acronym for Electro-Acoustic Beat Sessions) is an award-winning future-jazz septet based in Wroclaw, Poland. Their sound melds European jazz with hip-hop, funk, turntablism, gospel, electronic music, and modern composition. EABS' music employs the concept of "reconstruction from deconstruction," where sampling and looping are merged with jazz composition and improvisation. 2017's Repetitions (Letters to Krzysztof Komeda) re-imagined the famed composer's works through their own creative lens.
Saxophonist / flutist Tenderlonious joined the group for 2019's Slavic Spirits. They followed with Discipline of Sun Ra in 2020. 2023's In Search of a Better Tomorrow, is a full length collaboration with Lahore, Pakistan's Jaubi. It won international notice, providing EABS the opportunity to tour Western Europe and China. 2024's Reflections of Purple Sun was cut in homage to Polish trumpter Tomasz Stanko's 1973 album Purple Sun in the late musician's apartment. EABS interpeted each of the originals through their own contemporary aesthetic.
