Artist Biography
A Canadian fingerpicking guitar player who was born in Scotland, Eddie Douglas became interested in writing material for children after becoming an elementary-school teacher. Setting his favorite children's poems to his own music, Douglas released his first album, Alligator Ice Cream -- Jelly Delight!, in 2002. He has worked with a number of prominent Canadian children's poets, including Robert Munsch, Charles Wilkins, Jo Ellen Bogart, Loris Lesynski, and Dennis Lee, the author of Alligator Pie and former writer and lyricist for Jim Henson's HBO television show, Fraggle Rock. Eddie Douglas' follow-up record, Gonna Keep Dancing, earned the musician a nomination for Best Children's Recording in the 2008 Juno Awards. ~ Chris True
