About Elefante
Mexican rockers Elefante spent seven years playing local clubs before an impressive performance at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival helped them land a record deal.
â Their 2001 debut, El Que Busca Encuentra, earned the band their first radio hit, âAsĂ Es la Vida,â along with a pair of Latin Grammy nominations.
â Original frontman Reyli Barba hit No. 1 in Mexico and placed in the Top 20 of Billboardâs Hot Latin Songs chart with âAmor del Buenoâ from his 2004 solo debut, Reyli en la Luna.
â âAmor Gitano,â a flamenco-inspired track cowritten by Barba for the deluxe version of BeyoncĂ©âs 2006 album BâDay, enjoyed a decade-long reign as Spainâs best-selling single.
â Several of Barbaâs songs became TV themes, including âSe Quien Soyâ (for Mexicoâs version of Big Brother) and âLa Descaradaâ (for the telenovela RubĂ).
Members of Elefante include, or have included, Reyli Barba.
