Ellen Reid is a composer and sound designer whose output crosses multiple genres including opera, choral music, film scores, and music for art installations. Her work gained more widespread notice in the 2010s when, in addition to composing a number of film scores, she was commissioned to compose music by each of the four major musical institutions in Los Angeles. In 2019, Reid was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music for her first opera, p r i s m.
