Employing a sinister, mosh pit-inducing blend of djent, metalcore, dubsteb, hard rock, and electronica, Orlando, Florida's Exotype's decibel-pushing confections fall somewhere between Tesseract, Korn, Meshuggah, and Skrillex. Formed in 2012 around the talents of vocalist Steven McCorry, bass player Gabriel Montalvo, drummer Spencer Franke, and guitarists Rob Walden and Matt Browning, the band released its eponymous, Joey Sturgis-produced debut long-player via Rise Records in the fall of 2014. ~ James Christopher Monger
