Artist Biography
Firehorse blend smoky vocals, gentle electronics, and ethereal accents for a Bird and the Bee-meets-Björk mix. Comprised of classical violinist and commercial songwriter-turned-singer Leah Siegel, guitarist Steve Elliot, bassist Tim Luntzel, and drummer Brian Wolfe, the Brooklyn-based band named itself after the Chinese zodiac sign of independence, assertiveness, and free spirit. They released their full-length debut, And So They Ran Faster..., for the PledgeMusic label in September 2011, earning praise from the likes of Prince and getting ink in publications like Time Magazine for Siegel's powerful vocals and evocative songwriting. ~ Chrysta Cherrie
