About First Takes
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
We were downstairs in a small room with a leather sofa covered by my sisters old box spring and mattress when we decided to write 10 songs, each done in only one take. The first song being The First Take. We spent the entire night laughing.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Andrew Huang, First of October, Rob Scallon, Ten Hours
Bo Burnham, INSIDE
Ninja Sex Party, Attitude City
Ten Hours inspired us to record all of our songs in a single session with no preparation. Inside and Attitude city gave us the drive to really push into being silly.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Adobe Flash Player”
Adobe Flash Player is great because it was a spontaneous issue that came up while recording. If not for that interruption, Adobe Flash Player would not have become the masterpiece it is today.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
The giggles we get from writing these songs in the middle of the night. Followed by showing the songs off to our closest friends and watching them also laugh.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
There is plenty that we wish to do. We have plenty planned. If you like what we do, you'll just have to wait and see.
