About FMB
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
We wrote our first song - 'Julie's Gone Away' - at the Lancaster music co-op, a really vibrant community music studio that supported bands from the north-west in the early 90s and continues to do so in no small part due to the Lovely Eggs
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Faith No More, Angel Dust
The Smashing Pumpkins, Siamese Dream
my bloody valentine, Loveless
Loveless is just a wall of beautiful noise and, like Siamese Dream helped us move away from the more indie-pop sound we started out with (and never felt comfortable with). They were always on in the tour van along with Angel Dust by Faith No More.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Manor Road”
Manor road was close to the band HQ and was frequented by nightbirds and other marginal characters existing in the demi-monde of nineties Hackney. This track describes some of the things we saw and exprienced as we made our way through the night.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
There were many moments meeting famous musicians and celebs, but probably the most memorable were playing Reading festival, appearing in the channel 4 TV documentary 'The Next Big Thing' and probably going for tea at Keith Emersons's house...
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
In 5 years we experienced the full swing of obscurity, fame, fortune (or the lack of it) and the fickle nature of celebrity. All of us were marked by the experience, for good and bad, but we feel like these releases are the last things on our list.
