Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. After repeatedly listening to side 1 of my parents' Sgt. Pepper's album, I finally flipped it over to side 2 and was blown away!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Drab Majesty, Modern Mirror Joni Mitchell, Hejira Marillion, Clutching At Straws Being a teenage prog rock devotee in the 80's, Marillion is among my favourites from that era. Drab Majesty has an 80's goth vibe and really interesting chord progressions. Joni's Hejira is beautiful jazzy songs with that classic mid 70's sound.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Phractyl” I really like Phractyl for its controlled chaos. The pseudorandom granular textures are tempered by the pretty plucked melodic riff. The whole thing has a slightly funky groove thanks to the polyrhythmic kick/snare combo.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was playing one of my first live shows in the early 00's, nervous, very focused on my gear and performing as rehearsed when I noticed that the crowd was actually dancing and not talking!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to get to the point where I can play an improvised set on my modular setup, and then play live.
