While barely in their early 20s, guitarist Andy Kavanaugh, guitarist/bassist Andy Harris, guitarist/bassist Colin Swinney, and drummer Austin Dutmer (eventually replaced by Ryan Adams) emerged from a small Milwaukee scene and gained the attention of Oblivians frontman Gregory Cartwright, who produced their 2006 debut LP, CEMETERY TRAILS. Playing a deceptively mature mixture of jumpy garage rock, twangy alt-country, and melodic punk, the outfit toured small rock clubs across the nation with a live show that featured all members tirelessly trading vocals and instruments. A sophomore effort, CROOKED LAKE, immediately followed, and a self-titled third LP came on its heels the very next year.
