Halima Edozie-Akinlade, known simply as Halima, mixes and matches progressive R&B with intercontinental pop and club sounds of Nigeria, England, and the U.S. Truly cosmopolitan, the Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and producer was born in New Jersey and raised in Lagos and London, and has been refining her naturally multicultural approach since her first commercial singles, most notably the bright, twisting, and interrogative "Ford Cardinal" (2019). After a spate of additional singles and the XYZ EP (2021) saw release on her own One Percent Genius label, Halima linked up with Drink Sum Wtr, the outlet for the five-track Exu (2024) and full-length Sweet Tooth (2025). Also an educator, Halima has served as an adjunct professor at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
