Hands' brand of synthesized chamber pop was emotive enough to earn them a spot on Time magazine's "11 Bands You Don't Know (But Should)" list in 2012. Starting as a Philadelphia duo, Geoff Halliday and Ryan Sweeney met Sean Hess and Alex Staniloff in Los Angeles, where they set up shop and started recording. Following the release of 2012's Massive Context EP, they moved in a beat-oriented, chillwave direction for their debut full-length, Synesthesia, which was released on Kill Rock Stars in 2013. ~ Jason Lymangrover
