An electronic duo featuring multi-instrumentalist Tom Shear (Assemblage 23) and vocalist Mari Kattman (Day Twelve, Mari & the Ghost), Helix emerged in 2017 with a sound that combines elements of dub, trip-hop, and ambient, synth-driven electronic pop. The pair issued their debut EP, Twin, via Metropolis Records in 2018. A remix version of Twin appeared the following year, with the digital EP Bad Dream arriving in 2021.
