Heredero is the alias of carranga singer and songwriter Féizar Orjuela. Carranga is a Colombian country genre born in the 1970s from the fusion of Colombian Andean folk music with other regional styles such as rhumba criolla, paseo vallenato, and merengue campesino. His debut album, Camine a Ver, appeared in 2021, while its follow-up Cantando Cuento arrived in 2022, featuring "Pero Te Quiero," Heredero's first significant hit. No one, however, could predict the viral success of 2024's "Coqueta." The original single and its remixed version featuring Jessi Uribe managed to accumulate more than 50 million plays, sending "Coqueta" to the number one spot on Colombia's streaming charts.
