About Hypany
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
In second grade I took up serious interest in playing the piano and started to play my favorite songs. I didn't want to learn how to read sheet music, so I learned to play by ear instead. It came easy, and I was able to learn 30+ songs by ear.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Hypany, Did She Notice ?
I wrote & recorded all the songs in this album while living abroad in Abuja, Nigeria, as a diplomat with the U.S. Embassy. I was confined to a compound for two years for security, and this really effected my mental health. I made music as an outlet.

“Far Away”
I made and released this song while living in Abuja, Nigeria as well. I was going through a rough long distance breakup with my then ex, and I created this song as a way to channel my emotions. I was 2000 miles away from her and felt really far away.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
While living in Abuja, Nigeria, I was involved in a horrific car wreck with my friend. We barely survived and were pulled out of the car just before it burst into flames. We were medivaced to Washington D.C. where I would receive 4 back surgeries.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I would love to perform a show at a concert someday. I want to share my music with the world, and help comfort those who are going through similar struggles as me. I want to use music to reflect my emotions, pains and suffering with anyone who cares.
