New York-based group Ida are known for their intimate arrangements and quietly intense songwriting, drawing from influences ranging from indie rock, folk, and R&B to chamber pop and minimalism. Formed in 1992 by the core duo of singers/guitarists Daniel Littleton and Elizabeth Mitchell, they debuted in 1994 with the stripped-down Tales of Brave Ida, then gained drummer Michael Littleton for 1996's I Know About You. Third songwriter Karla Schickele came on board by the time Ten Small Paces appeared in 1997. They continued releasing well-received efforts such as 2000's Will You Find Me and 2005's Heart Like a River. After collaborating with Greenwich Village folk legend Michael Hurley for 2009's Ida Con Snock, Ida went on hiatus, while Mitchell concentrated on her successful solo career as a children's folk singer. Ida resumed performing in 2023, and Will You Find Me was given an expansive 25th anniversary reissue in 2025.
