One of Singapore’s first bedroom-pop musicians, pioneering singer-songwriter Inch Chua (a.k.a. inch, a childhood nickname) finds power in change. Fronting indie band Allura as a teen eventually led to carving out her own, more introspective niche. Empowered by self-reliance, her sound expanded into chamber pop, hushed folk and lo-fi electronica, all linked by her feather-light, elfin vocals. Her digital native ethos—she crowdfunds LPs and handles her own affairs—frees her up to follow her own path into the unconventional, even taking in binaural performance.
