About J. Spaceman
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jason Pierce -- aka J Spaceman -- has been a driving force in forward-thinking, hypnotic music with Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, on his own, and in collaboration with a wide range of players from scenes that span space rock, free improvisation, and more. Along with leading the charge on monumental albums for Spiritualized, J Spaceman has also made albums of ambient guitar loops, spiritual jazz, and collaborative recordings with Yoko Ono, Dr. John, Daniel Johnston, and others. In 2024, Spaceman released Music for William Eggleston's Stranded in Canton, a live soundtrack recording he'd made nine years earlier in a performance with Spiritualized bandmate John Coxon, playing blissed-out spectral blues themes along to Eggleston's 1974 film.
