Jack Sperling was one of the best of the Hollywood session drummers, and much in demand. He began playing professionally aged 15, and joined Bunny Berigan in July, 1941 where he remained until he was drafted into the Navy. Following the war, Sperling played in Les Brown’s Band Of Renown, worked with Bing Crosby, and was a member of Dave Pell’s octet. He subsequently began a career as a Hollywood studio session musician, working for NBC from 1959 until the start of the '70s, playing on hundreds of recording sessions with Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra.
