About Jada
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember being 9 years old when my family and I travelled to Rahway, NJ, to visit family. I organised a performance with my younger cousins and sisters and made just over $100. After, we convinced my older cousin to drive us out for ice cream.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Kim Burrell, Everlasting Life
Michael Jackson, Off the Wall
Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life
Everlasting Life will forever be a staple because of Kim Burrell's vocal agility and gospel/jazz influence. Off the Wall represents freedom of musicality and Songs in the Key of Life has really made my heart long for horns in every arrangement.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Feeling of Summer”
This was the first song I created, it was influenced by greats such as Anita Baker and James Brown.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of my most memorable moments have to have been performing at Brown University, It was fun being able to have creative control, work with the lighting team and band to create an immersive performance.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Most definitely! I want to perform at award shows like the BET Awards and the Grammys, the Super Bowl, Act in Movies, Tour, be a living Legend, open my own Record Label, manage Artists and give back. The list is endless.
