Artist Biography
James Reid is not someone to stay cosy in his stardom—the actor-singer-model-producer has always challenged his musical creativity, and the latest is launching his own indie label Careless. In 2019’s Palm Dreams the Filipino-Australian takes full creative rein, penning tracks that dive into an ocean of glossy new wave, dream pop and R&B. Notable hits such as “On Top” and “Il2lu” explore layers of desire and intimacy filtered with a cinematic tone. The bravado of Reid’s new sound is a leap forward from his pop-heavy debut album of 2013, reflecting maturity in his pursuit of innovation.
