About Jared Malmis
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I got exposed to music at a very young age through my late older brother who had a band; I used to watch them play at gigs. Later on, I managed to sing & play through local bands with friends, & grew even more as I joined my local church, JAMC-CDO.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Bon Jovi, Crossroad - The Best of Bon Jovi
Casting Crowns, Casting Crowns
Scorpions, 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Scorpions
Back when I was a kid, my late older brother gave me CDs of these albums, which I cherished to adulthood. He was an excellent multi-instrument member of his own band, and became one of my primary foundational influences in music, singing, & writing.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Tahanan”
I wrote this song for my beloved wife, Rhea Angela Arancon-Malmis. It's the first song I ever composed, and it got its debut performance on our wedding day. Every word & note of this song is a testament to God's beautifully written love story for us.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Being able to compose and produce actual, legit, high-quality music videos for all my music was so awesome! Almost unbelievable even. I couldn't have done it without the help of my trusted fellow artist JV Ranopa and friends. Excited for more!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
For now, there's only two of us primarily working on these projects, me and my trusted fellow artist JV Ranopa, along with the help of friends. It is my desire to compose and produce more godly songs with my very own full band known as Zionward.
