Jay Pryor is an Irish DJ, producer, songwriter, and remixer whose career took off following his work on the 2016 Steve Aoki and Louis Tomlinson dance hit "Just Hold On." In addition to releasing his own EDM work, he has remixed tracks for Niall Horan, Bastille, and ZAYN, among others.
A creative bent preceded the Dublin native's entry into music; he started his own graphic design firm at the age of 15. A few years later while in college, Pryor attended a Calvin Harris show and was inspired to give his own music career a try. He dropped out of school and began writing and recording, slowly earning a reputation in the electronic music scene. His big break came in 2016 when he was asked to co-produce the single "Just Hold On," with Steve Aoki and One Direction's Louis Tomlinson. The song became a major hit around the world and reached number two on the U.K. singles chart. His newfound success opened the door to remixing high-profile tracks like Niall Horan's "Slow Hands" and "Cruel" by Snakehips featuring ZAYN. After self-releasing his own singles, like 2017's "Fall for U" and 2018's "Over You," Pryor signed with Virgin/EMI-owned dance powerhouse Positiva Records and released the catchy "Rich Kid$" featuring I.D.A. He returned in 2019 with the solo single "So What." ~ Timothy Monger
