Pop star Jesse McCartney toggles back and forth between singing and acting, and he has amassed a substantial list of TV and movie credits along with a growing catalog of albums.
• McCartney began performing when he was seven, appearing in a community theater production of Oliver!. When he was 10, he joined the national touring company of The King and I.
• During his stint as JR Chandler on the soap opera All My Children from 1998 to 2001, McCartney became a member of the boy-band Dream Street. The group released two albums before splitting in 2002.
• After cowriting four songs on his 2004 solo debut, Beautiful Soul, McCartney cowrote all but one tune on his second album, 2006’s Right Where You Want Me.
• McCartney has appeared as himself on the Disney shows Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and voiced Theodore in four live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.
• McCartney was runner-up on Season 3 of the reality TV competition The Masked Singer in 2020.
