Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
One of my earliest musical memories is growing up in my township, listening to the jukebox playing music in my area. Music was always part of the environment around me—it was coming from homes, streets, gatherings and local spaces.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
AKA, MASS COUNTRY
Gaffi, Big Purrr
Thandiswa, Zabalaza
Mass Country, because of how songs flow naturally and are easy to listen to and sing along to. Gaffi stands out to me because of his unique delivery. Thandiswa Mazwai inspires me through the powerful aura she carries and her exceptional songwriting.

“STIMELA” by Jus'Six, Kayise Rayi and CashCore is a message of hope. “STIMELA” encourages us to remain ethembeni (hopeful), and it represents the creativity, collaboration and resilience nurtured at Jikela Studios Bootcamp programme.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of the most memorable moments in my career was seeing the young artists I mentored at the Jikela Studios Bootcamp programme come together to create and release music that reflected their own experiences, especially “STIMELA.”
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
One of the biggest things left on my bucket list is to build Jikela Studios into a fully established music school in Khayelitsha, where young artists can access professional training, recording facilities and mentorship.
