In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was born and raised in the deep south in coastal Louisiana so church-going was never up for debate. Some of my earliest memories are watching my family all playing old hymns and country gospel songs which led me to first pick up a guitar.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Manchester Orchestra, Simple Math The Head And The Heart, The Head And The Heart The Lumineers, The Lumineers The Head and the Heart and The Lumineers albums are chock full of so many catchy bops and gut wrenching ballads that really expanded the idea of Folk in my mind. Andy's writing in Simple Math is so profound and really challenged me as a songwriter.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Notre Dame” Aside from this being my first single I've released, it's a song I wrote on an airplane on the way home after a 6 hour layover in Paris. Thinking about the stained glass artwork and relief sculptures while sitting in the cathedral inspired the song.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing my first single after nearly 10 years of writing. There's something about opening your music up for others to enjoy.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Plenty. A new EP is on the way soon and there are a lot of songs I still want to record. I really just want to make something people would love to add to a playlist or jam in the car on a roadtrip.
