Before launching a solo career as Bunbury, Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Bunbury performed with the best-selling Spanish rock act Héroes del Silencio.
∙ A huge fan of David Bowie, Bunbury covered “Ashes to Ashes” with Héroes del Silencio.
∙ Bunbury expanded his range beyond rock with his second solo album, 1999’s cabaret-folk-leaning Pequeño.
∙ He’s had four No. 1 albums in Spain, including 2008’s Phil Manzanera-produced Hellville de Luxe and 2010’s Las Consecuencias.
∙ A record-setting 90,000 fans attended his 2009 solo concert at Mexico’s Azteca Stadium, making him the first Spanish artist to draw a crowd that large in Latin America.
