About Joy
Employing a punishing blend of blackened hardcore and neck-snapping thrash metal, North Carolina's Joy was founded in 2015. The quartet issued a two-song demo shortly after forming, and quickly became a fixture on the East Coast circuit, sharing the stage with contemporaries like Shai Hulud, Full of Hell, and Power Trip. In early 2016, the band began working on their debut EP. Recorded with producer Kris Hilbert (Torch Runner, Between the Buried and Me), the resulting Of Nothing was released later that June via Blood & Ink Records. ~ James Christopher Monger
