Illuminations, her full-length debut, appeared in 2016 and was followed by Unraveled in 2020, co-produced with Steve Rodby. In 2022, she and pianist Randy Ingram teamed on Play Favorites, offering duets interpreting various pop, jazz, and Brazilian standards. With a sextet co-billed to Dave Douglas and Helen Sung, she appeared on Lives of the Saints: Portraits in Song with Words by David Hajdu in 2025. In March 2026, she issued The Lively Air, her Greenleaf Music debut. Johnson contributed four original compositions, while her violinist, Tomoko Omura, contributed one.
