About KEN.DRA
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
At 7, my dad and uncle owned a sound system, Pash Frequency. During a dubplate session, they introduced me to Mr. Vegas, who sang my favorite song, “Heads High.” I was amazed to learn he was real and so inspired.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Amy Winehouse, Back To Black
Beenie Man, Best of Beenie Man
Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
These projects exemplify excellence and mastery of their instruments; they showed me what is possible.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Flossy”
This is me taking my voice back from something and someone that tried to silence me. It became the inspiration for my thesis film, FLOSSY.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
My first headlining concert, May 4th, 2019 in Brooklyn, NY. It was the first time I saw people wave posters in the crowd for me and sing my lyrics word for word. It showed me that I wasn’t crazy and that my art resonates with people.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
There is so much I want to accomplish:
- release an album I love
- go on a 10 city tour across the country
- release a visual album
- lots more
