One of the Czech Republic's most well-known and well-liked songwriters, performers, poets, and musicians, Jaromir Nohavica started out collaborating as a songwriter with such bands as Atlantis, Noe, and Majestic before embarking on a highly successful solo career that would last more than two decades. Born in Ostrava on June 7, 1953, Jaromir had no formal musical training, and after writing successful songs for many different artists, struck out on his own in the mid-'80s.
