Atlanta's Nicole Wray and England's Terri Walker first met in New York City in 2009, and recognizing a similar affinity for classic soul and modern hip-hop, formed the duo Lady. Walker had already launched a fairly successful career in the United Kingdom, with four albums under her belt, while Wray had a gold single with "Make It Hot," but together, the two brought a fresh, 21st century feel to smooth soul and R&B. Signed to Truth & Soul Records, the duo released a debut album, the self-titled Lady, produced by Leon Michels and Jeff Silverman, early in 2013. ~ Steve Leggett
