About Laffey
Artist Biography
Laffey is a Toronto producer and multi-instrumentalist who blends lo-fi beats with soft instrumentation and atmospheric ambient sounds.
• His 2018 album Ten was inspired by a late-night viewing of the 1979 Dudley Moore and Bo Derek film of the same name. Laffey cited the film’s fashion and aesthetics as influences.
• Laffey told Spill Magazine, “I have struggled with anxiety in my life. Lo-fi helps me chill and relax...People listen to escape, and find peace in a hectic life.”
• “Quilted Hills,” his 2019 collaboration with fellow lo-fi artist ocha, has amassed millions of streams. So has “Crush,” off Laffey’s soft and mellow 2020 collection Summer Nights.
