About LeAnn Rimes
Blessed with a powerful soprano, LeAnn Rimes has proven herself a force across country, pop, gospel, and dance music. Born in 1982 in Jackson, MS, she released her debut album as a preteen.. A few years later, she conquered country airwaves with the 1996 honky-tonk throwback “Blue,” a song that heralded her as an heir to Patsy Cline’s heart-wrenching vocal style and established her as a radio wunderkind. But Rimes quickly showed she wouldn’t be limited. She’s since done soulful power ballads (1997’s “How Do I Live”); gritty pop songs (2000’s “Can’t Fight the Moonlight”); and punchy dance numbers (2016’s “Long Live Love”), seamlessly adapting her singing technique to suit the moment. In 2023, she tapped into a number of the genres she’s explored over her career with the vibrant god’s work (resurrected), a poignant offering in an already affecting body of work.
