About Lee Emi
In the artist’s words:
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Clean Slate”
I chose this song because it stems from my Korean adoptee experience, knowing that I were promised a clean slate and realizing that there will always be ghosts following me until I learn how to integrate them.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
I opened for Anais Mitchell in 2018, and was able to play a song for her that had been inspired by her song, Tailor. She said it felt like she had lit a cigarette and I'd lit my own from the tip of hers.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I would love to have the opportunity to perform on KEXP! I started my career while watching artists like Mitski and Japanese Breakfast perform in studio, and it would mean a lot to follow in those footsteps.
