Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Jahleel “Leelo” Myrie is a producer and artist from Kingston, Jamaica. Son of reggae legend Buju Banton, he began forging his own path after graduating Jamaica College in 2015, blending roots influences with a fresh, modern sound.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Under the guidance of his older brother, acclaimed producer Markus Myrie of Markus Records, Leelo developed his production style and collaborated with artists including Projexx, Vanessa Bling, and D’yani.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Leelo’s evolution led to his debut single “Heart & Soul,” a personal tribute to his late grandmother and love for music. Blending heartfelt storytelling with Jamaican roots, he’s emerging as a standout voice in the new wave of Caribbean music.
