About Leo Lyons
Leo Lyons is an English bassist and composer. His meaty yet smooth, authoritative tone on the electric bass and his driving woody tone on the upright, descend directly from the great British blues and jazz traditions of the early to mid-'60s. Lyons is also a producer whose credits include UFO's first three albums -- Phenomenon, Force It, and No Heavy Petting -- and several albums for melodic hard rock band Magnum between 1979 and 1990. He also helmed dates for Bridget St. John, Brian Protheroe, Chris Farlowe, and Waysted. Lyons' solo projects include Kick, who independently issued Heartland in 1992 and Tough Trip Through Paradise in 1994 (as Leo Lyons' Kick). Since 2014 he's worked in blues-rock outfit Hundred Seventy Split and issued a handful of albums including 2023's Movin' On.
