Yogyakarta pop-rock balladeers Letto’s penchant for delicate, rising melodies and narrative lyrics made them one of Indonesia’s most inescapable acts in the 2000s. With the vulnerable refrains of “Ruang Rindu” and the catchy, mid-tempo sing-along “Permintaan Hati”, the band became as ubiquitous on TV as they were on the airwaves as their songs appeared on popular Indonesian dramas. Showing they still mean business, Letto expanded from a quartet to a sextet in 2016, with the resolve to build a legacy as the nation’s foremost purveyors of melodious heartbreak.
