Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is as a pre-schooler playing my ‘drum kit’ (made of biscuit tins) along with the radio. I clearly haven’t always been into ambient, but also had very patient parents.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Adam Wiltzie, A Winged Victory for the Sullen Kate Bush, Aerial Martin Craft, Blood Moon Deconstructed The most beautiful albums ever recorded, and they had a massive influence on ‘Be Kind to Every Kind’. I love music that tries to address what it is to be human - beauty, love, fear - and makes the listener feel what the musician feels.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Kookaburra” It’s always the track that was released most recently (currently Kookaburra). I usually release music in the same order in which it was recorded: if you hear my most recent track then you’re hearing the sounds I was discovering just a few weeks ago.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time I met someone I didn’t know who had heard my music. I was in the supermarket in my home town and saw my cover art on the phone of the person next to me. Cue very smug feeling.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? It’s a bit cheesy but I really do just want people to hear my music, and the more the better. There will be literally billions of people who don’t like it, but if I can get it in front of the people who do then I’ll be really happy.
