Formed in 2007, Litchfield are a Sacramento-based band whose peppy, irreverent music splits the difference between emo, dance-pop, and alternative rock. Brothers Benji and Adam Hedman formed the group in their parents’ garage, with Benji handling drums and Adam playing the guitar. The pair recruited two more members -- vocalist Mario Rodriguez and bassist Josh Helsel -- before launching a brief tour, traveling as far east as Kansas and as far south as Texas. Litchfield released an EP before the year was up and hit the road during the following summer, this time covering a larger area and playing to growing crowds. In 2010, the band joined the Warped Tour in support of its second EP, California Girls. ~ Andrew Leahey
