Born Laura Pergolizzi, LP is an alternative singer-songwriter with a distinctly unique tone that sets her apart in the crowded indie scene.
â Launching her career as a songwriter in the early 2000s, LP has written hits for major artists, including Rihannaâs âCheers (Drink to That)â (2010) and Joe Walshâs âHi-Roller Babyâ (2012).
â In her first network TV appearance, LP performed the title track off her major debut, Into the Wild (Live at EastWest Studios), on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2012.
â LPâs first album to enter the Billboard 200 was 2014âs Forever For Now, which also shot to No. 2 on the Heatseeker chart.
â The 2015 hit single âLost on Youâ sparked LPâs international success, topping the charts in Italy, France, and Switzerland, while earning Platinum certification in four countries.
â âMuddy Watersâ was her first single to crack Billboardâs Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, after it was spotlighted on the 2016 season finale of the series Orange Is the New Black.
Influenced by LPLP has influenced the music of Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Birds of Bellwoods, ANDRUX and more.
